They are some people who are very unique for what they do, some are unique for what they are. When a person can do something not a lot of people can do, the salaries go up. You can't pay a normal person to run as fast as an NFL running back.
Television and movies make a lot of money so even if they pay high salaries to the actors/actresses, they will still make a huge profit. The actors/actresses produce a lot of income for their employers.
Sometimes a person plays such a huge role in a show or movie that they NEED them, so the person can charge what they want.
