If you have ever seen a NHL net in real life, you would know that it is way bigger than it is on TV. If a 600 pound man wore all the goalie pads, he wouldn't be able to move. There will would still be gaps and corners. The accuracy of some NHL shooters is quite frightening and a gap is all that they need to score. Pucks are very small and it can squeeze through a tiny hole.
Goalies need to be able to move around and cover the puck when needed. A 600 pound man won't be able to do that. After he goes down the first shot, he won't be able to get up for the second, or thrid shot.
